When i like working, it's because of other people.

We have pretty girls as waitstaff, and some of them aren't as smart as they are pretty. They were complaining about how heavy the passed dessert plates were (they weigh, like, a pound, probably less), and one of them says, "I can't hardly lift it! I think I'm getting Tourrettes from lifting these plates!"

YES. I'M SURE.

WTF. That's just... sad and rather depressing.

It was pretty funny, because I just kind of facepalmed, while other people were trying not to laugh at her. I was like, "you sure you mean that?" And she was like, "oh! Oh! I mean, uh, arthritis!" And I said, "that's closer, at least."

*Snorts* Still though... you wonder how people like that remember how to breathe... or eat if they can't lift something that light.

WOW. Someone get her a dictionary.

[identity profile] allzugern.livejournal.com 2009-04-27 05:49 pm (UTC)(link)
HOW DO YOU KNOW???HUH?? Maybe the plates are forcing her to suddenly break out in obscenities :-)

Hahahaha, oh man, no way I could keep from laughing if I was there.

LOLLERCOPTER.

WHAT!? Wow. Just......wow.

[identity profile] kira-bouviea.livejournal.com 2009-04-27 08:12 pm (UTC)(link)
*laughs* someone needs a dictionary. Wait, never mind, that would probrably be to heavy for her to lift.

[identity profile] strokeof-genie.livejournal.com 2009-04-27 09:30 pm (UTC)(link)
Humph. Trust me, I was on appetizers and passed desserts, and she had NO problem eating. Although you might have a point; those were tiny, just little pick-up sweets and bits. She had no problem lifting one to her mouth, just ten or twelve on a plate. :/

[identity profile] strokeof-genie.livejournal.com 2009-04-27 09:38 pm (UTC)(link)
Bwahahaha! Someone (below) said that, and then wondered if she could even lift a dictionary. :D

[identity profile] strokeof-genie.livejournal.com 2009-04-27 09:41 pm (UTC)(link)
*gasp* It could! It totally could. Maybe it was too heavy for her to lift and it fell on her foot, and she cursed loudly as a result. Or, uh, something?

[identity profile] strokeof-genie.livejournal.com 2009-04-27 09:48 pm (UTC)(link)
I was so stunned, Jess. Honestly, people were laughing behind me, and she was in front of me, and all I could ask was, "Tourrettes? You sure you mean that?" And she said, "Oh! Oh, I mean arthritis!"

*sprofle* that was closer at least, right?

I was so happy I witnessed it. Later, Meecho had to use the bathroom, but the same girl and some of her friends were standing in front of the door, so when he was behind them he yelled "HOT PAN!" They freaked ou, it was hilarious. They were in front of the BATHROOM and they freaked because obviously, Meecho would be carrying a hot pan into the bathroom with him. Of course.

[identity profile] strokeof-genie.livejournal.com 2009-04-27 10:03 pm (UTC)(link)
Bwahahaha, it probably could be. And that's assuming she knew how to use one, or find to correct word. I can just imagine, "Turrets? It says these are on castles. I don't...get it?"

[identity profile] zillahseye.livejournal.com 2009-04-28 04:57 am (UTC)(link)
Maybe she's just cleverly setting up an excuse for when she screams "SHIT! SHITFUCK! BASTARD!" at a customer.

...

o.O

[identity profile] strokeof-genie.livejournal.com 2009-04-30 09:02 pm (UTC)(link)
That would have been pretty amazing, I'm not gonna lie.

I find other people's stupidity so damn awesome sometimes, and I was just glad to be there, at that moment. It was AWESOME. People at work are still laughing about it.
