I voted! I went with some of my neighbors. I saw my grade school's best friend's mom at the table, and she restrained herself: I know she wanted to make sure I was voting for Obama. :)

They probably will be pretty long. :( BUT! That's good. That means that people are voting.

The neighbors I went with are awesome, and afterward we all went to Starbucks and got our coffee, and sat around for almost two hours just shooting the shit about the election. SO much fun. And you know me, and how liberal I am? They were even more so than me, LOL! I found myself defending the Republican party from unfair criticism. It was weird.

LOL!! Holy shit, that's hilarious! I mean, I try to stay on the fence, but I doubt I'd even be able to do that right now, lol.

It was a lot of, well. They were saying that McCain and his campaign were responsible for how dirty this election was, and that's true, to a certain extent. I'd say that the negative ads in this election are split 60/40, leaning Republican, obviously.

They went on to defend all of Obama's ads, and so on and so forth. They're great people, but they're the types of Democrats that are so far left they can't see both sides, you know? Whereas I like to think that I'm supporting Obama because of the issues and not because of the Democratic party. I hope that one day, on some election, there's a Republican candidate that makes me think. It's just that, so far, and with this current election, I couldn't imagine voting Republican, but I can still see both sides.

Yeah, I know what you mean. I always try to see both sides, too, but I have to admit that it's been difficult this time around. Especially after watching parts of the Republican convention. Just, their attitudes, the types of speeches they gave, the push of religion, and just the general crowd that was there? It all had me kinda concerned. It was like a circus, compared to the Democratic one. I do understand the basic principles of the Republican party itself. I even agree with some of them. But it seems to have just taken a wrong turn somewhere, and a lot of the people involved in it nowadays are just...I don't know. Not fit to run the damn country, that's for sure. Not that I love everything about the Democratic party. I don't go either way. I'm an independent. But the Republican party worries me a lot more than it used to. I really hope it gets better at some point. Maybe it will if they lose tonight.

Exactly. I see both sides, and I choose which one I can identify with more. It just so happens that this time, this election, the Republican party genuinely scares me. I can't identify with it except on fringe issues that don't truly matter, and the way they're conducting themselves at rallies and conventions? I don't want to be near that, at all.
