Some stuff.

Finished Composition class, saw Tom Petty (fantastic, damnit, I want to follow his tour), saw Lady Gaga (awesome performance omg, she's so fucking adorable live and much more beautiful than in pictures, they don't do her justice at all), and saw Inception.

I became obsessed with Inception, and dove into the kink meme. [livejournal.com profile] fire_at_wi11, let's talk more. LOL

This is my most prolific fandom. Ever. Like, I wrote a lot in the Supernatural or RPS fandom, but I rarely posted anything, and it was like pulling teeth because I...well. Half of the actors I've met, now, so I feel terribly creepy. With Inception? It's eaten my brain, so I'm taking advantage of it before my brain grows back. Still terribly creepy since 75% is porn, but. I don't seem to care. My lack of shame seems shameful, almost.

Everything is now heeere~

Can you tell that I have an OTP? I think that's it for now. I've started more, and will update this list when I'm done.

ALSO PROP 8 WAS RULED UNCONSTITUTIONAL HELLS YES

I have not seen Inception yet. (probably the only person on the internet that hasn't!).

However I'm going to see Tom Petty twice- once in DC and once in Charlotte, NC. I saw him twice during his last tour. He's a great show, tightest rock band ever.

And about FUCKING TIME with CA! I just... words fail, but the whole banning marriage thing is so fucking unconstitutional that I just can't believe it's been allowed to happen for so long...

You should see it! It's...like, okay. I wanted to see it, because I'm a fan of all of the actors and I trust Nolan. It was really hyped up and I was kind of worried I'd be let down. But it surpassed all of my expectations, and just blew me away completely.

Tom Petty puts on one of the best concerts I have ever seen. I am so jealous of you! Not lying when I say I'd abandon my life if I could afford it and travel after him to see every concert. I mean, when listening to him, I know the words to every song because they're all hits, except his new stuff (and it's only a matter of time, it's all fantastic.) I kept getting surprised and going, "Oh my God, how'd I forget this one? OH my gawd, and this one?"

It's absolutely insane that it took this long for it to be ruled. I love the judge's wording, and everything about it. http://documents.nytimes.com/us-district-court-decision-perry-v-schwarzenegger - .pdf of the court transcript

I've got it penciled in as a must see- I'm pretty bad at getting to the theater to see things like that movie if I'm by myself. My bf is more of an action/sci-fi guy, and "Inception" looks too deep for him. ;)

As for Tom Petty- if you scrape together the funds, I highly recommend buying his "Running Down A Dream" bio-epic, because it is amazing, not just the history, but the live concert dvd that comes with it that he did in Gainesville. Seriously one of the best concert DVDs that I've ever seen.

I have some MP3s from a concert he did in Chicago in 2006- the "Chicago Vic Theater" show. It has some of the best live versions of songs. I've got a couple of favorite lesser known songs that he surprised me with in that concert- "Crawling Back to You" being one of them. I can totally hook you up if you want! I'm a collector of bootlegs.

Judge Walker is legal genius. I'm also proud that the Gubernator is asking that ruling be put into effect now.

"The Administration believes the public interest is best served by permitting the court's judgment to go into effect, thereby restoring the right of same-sex couples to marry in California. Doing so is consistent with California's long history of treating all people and their relationships with equal dignity and respect." — California Governor Arnold Schwarzenegger, asking Judge Vaughn Walker not to grant a stay in his ruling on Prop 8.

Oh, he would totally like it! I found it pretty easy to understand. Some people were just like, "omg the ending what happened?" But...see, it's up for interpretation. And then there's the people who look for ~deeper meanings and shit, and yes, those could exists for the movie, but they don't have to. It can just be a movie with a lot of cool effects and explosions and guns and hot people. /sometimes shallow

I will buy that when I get paid next! I bought the Live Anthology when it came out, and it's fanfreakingtastic. It took 3 cds, but I have it all in my car so I can listen on roadtrips. There's some videos that come with it when you get it off of iTunes, and some of them are songs he either did at Bonnaroo or at Gainesville.

I would love for you to hook me up with those! I love good live mp3s.

Yes, to both of these! I was talking with my hair stylist today about this. She's so afraid of the appeal, and I tried to explain to her just how well everything was explained, and how irrational the discrimination (as if it is ever rational) is explained as. I ended up making her look up the Greatest Hits of this whole thing, including Schwarzenegger's request. It's just going so well, I'm waiting for the other shoe to drop, but it shouldn't because this makes sense and if something bad happens, there's almost a guarantee that it wouldn't make sense. You know?
